Click on “All eBooks” in the eBook box on the right side of the page. To only browse books that are currently available: Check the box next to “Only show titles with copies available” at the top of the page. Leave the search box blank and click Submit.

When you are looking at what’s available, keep in mind that you need a title that has “Kindle book” listed as its format.

(Alternatively, you can search for an eBook that you want using the “Quick Search” box at top right. If eLibraryNJ owns it in Kindle format, but the book is currently checked out, click “Place a Hold”. You will be asked to type in your email address.  When it is your turn, you will receive an email. Then go to eLibraryNJ.com, click My Account, sign in, go to My Holds, and continue with the instructions below.  You can have up to 5 holds at a time.)

Audiobooks for Kindle

If you are interested in borrowing e-audiobooks for your Kindle, you will need to download the Overdrive Media Console software from eLibraryNJ.com.  Then, check out an audiobook in MP3 format (WMA format will not work).  The file will open in Overdrive Media Console. Plug your Kindle into your computer using its USB cable.  In Overdrive Media Console, click “Transfer”.  On your computer, go to My Computer and double click the Kindle drive.  Drag the audiobook files from the Kindle drive into the Kindle’s Documents folder. Eject your Kindle.  Your Kindle will list each part of the audiobook separately and they will be labeled “music”.
